    “I am still learning.” - Michelangelo Buonarotti

    . . and while learning, always searching for ways to make my audience understand that I am responsible for giving them an alternate way to view life. While I grow in my interpretations of color, value, form, I reflect on the words of Michelangelo, as a guide: “A true artist paints with his brains, not with his hands” ...

    . . which I have learned through much trial, error and triumph in all of my drawings and paintings. “A beautiful thing never gives so much pain as does failing to hear and see it”. This is my ultimate responsibility: to recognize beauty; to follow every detail; and for my audience to hear what the artist is telling them. Still learning... and growing....

  • Artist Bio

    Erin Morgan Smith Glenn is an assistant professor of art, advisor of the Visual Arts Club and proud alum of Central State University. She holds an M. F. A. from the University of Cincinnati with a concentration in 2D drawing and painting, working in a variety of

    media. Erin has exhibited works throughout the Midwest, including numerous solo exhibitions, with three solos in 2019 alone. Among her lifelong pursuits is to

    continually practice her artwork and overall creative experiences, vowing never to stop “growing as an artist and individual”, while always striving to instill this concept in her students and her three children, as she does within herself.

    When not participating as an educator or exhibitor of art, The Scarvin Artist, occupies much of her time, as she accepts painting and drawing commissions, and creates

    unique crocheted and other artisanal designs. Currently, Glenn is exhibiting artwork in the ' traveling’ celebration of diverse women: the art collaborative known as “Women

    Strong” Dayton, OH.
